YEJI

Hwang Yeji (황예지), known mononymously as Yeji, is a singer and leader of the South Korean girl group band Itzy which debuted in 2019 with JYP Entertainment (JYPE). In 2015, Yeji auditioned to join JYPE with Twice's song Like Ooh-Ahh and successfully became a trainee. In 2018, prior to to her debut with Itzy, she participated in SBS’ show The Fan but was eliminated on episode 5. During the show, Junho from 2PM called her "JYP's secret weapon". She trained for 3 years before debuting with Itzy in February 2019.

DIET AND EXERCISE

Yeji eats small snacks throughout the day. She likes eating naengmyeon (Korean cold noodles), chocolate, snacks and dislikes mushroom soup.

FUN FACTS AND TRIVIA

-Her English name is Lucy Hwang.

-She enjoys playing the piano and writing in her diary at night. Her favorite color is black.

-Yeji is the leader of ITZY.

-She has 2 dogs. One is a red toy poodle named Hongsam (which means red ginseng in Korean) and the other is a black toy poodle named Insam (which means ginseng in Korean).

-Her motto is "believe in yourself".

-Her Itzy bandmates call her Yeddeong.
