VCHA

VCHA (비춰; formed Sep 22, 2023) is a 6-member global girl group under JYP Entertainment formed through the reality show A2K. VCHA is the first American girl group trained through the K-pop system to debut. The group was formed on September 22, 2023, with the final 6 members of the A2K contestants - Lexi, KG, Camila, Kendall, Kaylee, and Savanna.



The name VCHA comes from the Korean word 빛나, which means to illuminate or shine. The name is pronounced vee-cha.



VCHA is composed of 6 members born between 2005 and 2009. All members were recruited during auditions in the United States. The oldest member is Camila (born Aug 10, 2005). She was 18 years old when the group was formed. The youngest member is Kaylee (born Nov 24, 2009). She was 13 years old when VCHA was formed.



All members are American except for Camila. Kaylee is Korean-American (born in America). KG, Savanna, Kendall, and Lexi are also American. Camila is Canadian.

The official leader of VCHA is Lexi. The following positions are not official but rather based on performances.

• VCHA is the first group from JYP Entertainment to debut with very diverse members of different ethnicities including Hispanic, Black, Caucasian, and Asian.
• All the members are currently living in Korea and learning Korean. The only member who was fluent in Korean prior to the group's debut was Kaylee.



Camila is the oldest member of VCHA. Born in Canada, she is the only non-American member. She is the tallest member with a height of 173 cm (5'8''). Both of her parents are Cuban musicians. She was born in Spain and then moved to Montreal, Canada where she grew up. She can speak multiple languages including French, Spanish, and English. She participated in La Voix Junior (Voice Canada) in 2016 where she finished in the top 3. Prior to A2K, she was studying nursing at John Abbott College.

Lexi is the official leader of VCHA. She ranked first place in the finale of A2K. She is Hmong and was born in Wisconsin, USA. Prior to moving to Korea to be part of VCHA, she lived in Chicago, Illinois. Lexi comes from a ballet background. She practiced the sport for 12 years starting at the age of 4 before quitting after being unsure about becoming a ballerina.

Kendall is half Vietnamese half Caucasian. She is from Fort Worth Texas, USA. She was such a huge fan of Kpop that she traveled to Korea to a dance academy prior to A2K. She was a performer during high school doing theater, musicals, jazz, and choir. She studied ballet for 5 years and trained in Taekwondo for several years.

KG ranked 2nd place in the finals of A2K. She stood out during the competition for her strong vocals. She has 2 older brothers and a younger brother whom she played with as part of a band called Good Kicks. She has been composing since the age of 12. Kaylee is the youngest member of VCHA. She was only 13 years old when she was competing in A2K. She was born in Washington, USA. Both of her parents are Korean. She has dual citizenship Korean and American. Kaylee is the only member who was already fluent in Korean prior to VCHA's debut. Her mom studied music. Kaylee practiced Taekwondo as a kid and participated in several auditions prior to A2K but did not pass.
