Kim Chaewon (김채원; born Aug 1, 2000), simply known as Chaewon, is a South Korean singer and a member of the Kpop group LE SSERAFIM under Source Music. She is a former member of the Kpop group IZ*ONE. She was a participant in the survival show Produce 48 and ranked 10th place. She made her debut with IZ*ONE on October 29, 2018 at the age of 18 and with LE SSERAFIM at the age of 21.

Predebut and Childhood
Kim Chaewon was born on August 1, 2000 in Seoul, South Korea as the youngest of 2 daughters. Chaewon attended Seoul Poi Elementary School, Guryong Middle School, Gaepo High School, and Hanlim Multi Art School.
While in elementary school and middle school, Chaewon danced and sang alone at home. She dreamt of becoming a Kpop idol after she got into high school. She passed the auditions with Woollim Entertainment and became a trainee for 11 months prior to entering Produce 48 as a contestant in 2018.
Chaewon place 10th place and debuted with IZ*ONE on October 29, 2018 at the age of 18. IZ*ONE disbanded on Apr 29, 2021 once the contract terminated and all the members returned to their respective agencies. After the dissolution of IZ*ONE, Chaewon returned to Woollim as a trainee.
2022: Debut with LE SSERAFIM
In March of 2022, it was announced that Chaewon and Sakura, former members of IZ*ONE, would be debuting with a new girl group under Source Music. On May 2, 2022, several months later, Chaewon made her official debut with LE SSERAFIM at the age of 21.
