TEMPEST (템페스트; acronym: TPST) is a 7-member South Korean (Kpop) boy group under Yuehua Entertainment. The members are: LEW, Hyeongseop, Hwarang, Hanbin, Hyuk, Eunchan, and Taerae. They debuted on Mar 2, 2022 with the mini album It's ME, It's WE.



Background

The agency filed an application of patent for the name Tempest and TPST on June 8, 2021. Official social media accounts were created in December and an official logo released on December 30, 2021.



The name Tempest signifies strong storm, meaning that the group will sweep the music industry with their bright energy and strong and powerful performances. The logo, which looks like the eye of a typhoon, is meant to represent this.

Hanbin (Korean: 한빈; Vietnamese: Ngô Ngọc Hưng; born Jan 19, 1998) is the oldest member of TEMPEST. He is from Vietnam and started as a dancer. He was also the leader of the dance crew C.A.C and they uploaded their Kpop dance covers on YouTube. He is a former participant of the South Korean survival show I-LAND. He was eliminated and ranked 10th place.



In June 2021, it was announced that Hanbin had left Belift Lab and signed with Yuehua Entertainment. Hanbin was 24 years old when he debuted with TEMPEST.

Ahn Hyeongseop (안형섭; born Aug 9, 1999), simply known as Hyeongseop, is a South Korean actor and singer. He was part of the Yuehua Project Hyeongsep X Euiwoong. He was a contestant in the survival show Produce 101 Season 2. He is a former trainee from Big Hit Entertainment but left in 2016 and joined Yuehua Entertainment shortly after. Hyeongseop was 22 years old when he debuted with TEMPEST.

Koo Bon Hyuk (구본혁; born Apr 17, 2000), better known as Hyuk was the 7th member to be revealed. Hyuk was 21 years old when he debuted with TEMPEST. He passed first round auditions with FNC Entertainment, JYP, and Big Hit Entertainment.

Choi Byeong Seop (최병섭; born Feb 27, 2001), better known as Eunchan, is TEMPEST's sixth member announced. He is from Anyang, Geyonggi-do, South Korea. He attended Hanlim Multi Arts School and graduated in 2020. Eunchan was 21 years old when he debuted with TEMPEST in 2022.

Lee Euiwoong (이의웅; born Apr 5, 2001), known by his stage name LEW, was part of the Yuehua Project Hyeongsep X Euiwoong. He was a contestant in the survival show Produce 101 Season 2. LEW gained popularity after on an episode of Hello Counselor in 2016. After the episode aired, he was approached by several agencies and eventually joined Yuehua Entertainment as a trainee. He stands at a height of 170 cm (5'7'') and has an estimated weight of 55 kg (121 lbs). LEW was 20 years old when he debuted with TEMPEST.

Song Jae Won (송재원; born Apr 23, 2001), better known by his stage name Hwarang is a former trainee from DSP Media and was part of the pre-debut group DSP N. He was a contestant in Under Nineteen. Hwarang was 20 years old when he debuted with TEMPEST.

Kim Tae Rae (김태래; born May 9, 2002) is a South Korean singer and the second member announced. He is the youngest member of the group. Appearance-wise, he bears a striking resemblance to Lee Know from Stray Kids. Taerae was 19 years old when he debuted with TEMPEST in 2022.
