Big Hit Japan (HYBE Labels Japan) announced on Dec 31, 2020 on their Twitter that they will be debuting a new boy group with some of the eliminated trainees from the South Korean survival show I-LAND as well as some new members that will be selected through auditions. The known members are: K, Taki, Nicholas, and EJ. The name of the group and the exact debut date are still unknown.

The total members of the new boy group from Big Hit Entertainment Japan has not been announced. So far 4 of the eliminated trainees from I-LAND have been confirmed as part of the new group: K, Taki, Nicholas, and EJ. Three of them are foreigners. K and Taki are from Japan. Nicholas is from Taiwan. EJ is Korean. Kyungmin was part of the original lineup but he left the agency in May 2021 prior to the group's debut.

Fun Facts and Trivia

  • K, Taki, Nicholas, and EJ are former participants of the survival show I-LAND.
  • K and Taki made it to the final season of I-LAND. Both of them were eliminated and did not make it to the final lineup of what became Enhypen. K ranked #8 and Taki ranked #11 in I-LAND.
  • In May 2021, HYBE Labels Japan announced that Kyungmin, who was previously revealed as a member, decided to depart from the agency due to differences in the directions being sought.
